Prelogue In 1858, during the bakumatsu, there lived a man known as Hitokiri Battosai. He was the imperialists assasin, and without him the restoration would probobly never have been achieved, but after it had been, he disappeared without a trace, vowing to never kill again. Some said it was because he knew too much, others that he'd killed someone he shouldn't have. Time passed, and he became known as a legend, until one day, 10 years later, he bumps into a girl searching for a false Battosai who's been killing people in town. And so the story begins... Story/Content In the first episode, Kenshin Himura (Battosai), meets the 17 year old girl Kaoru Kamiya, who he saves, and later moves in with. Due to his violent past, and his swordskills, he is constantly drawn into fights to protect those he cares for, and even the era he helped create himself. It's sounded very serious up to this point, right? Well, it isn't always very serious, truth is it's very funny. It contains a huge array of emotions from sadness to love, hate and humor. The story isn't too complex, even though it's very good (especially the Kyoto arc!), with lots of dramatic swordfights and memorable moments. The artwork is pretty good too, it's very very good in the manga, which I recommend more than the anime series, the story is better in them too! This is a series I hugely recommend you to get in to!
